As an illustrator, I take pride in my diversified range of illustration skills. This illustration of NBA player Dwayne Wade was created for an illustration class in 2018. The task was to draw a full body illustration of a human in any medium that I desired.
My Process
I decided on digital illustration because I wanted to push myself to learn how to create quality works of art in the digital realm. The colored flat background is meant to contrast sharply with the gray scale and realistic illustration. The diagonal angle in the background parallels with the stance of the basketball player. This illustration was one of my first illustrations where I began to truly see colors break down into layers for shading. I used this drawing to explore how various backgrounds impact movement.
